Welcoming Rev. Frances Gonzalez

Welcoming Rev. Frances Gonzalez

It won’t be long now until we will be welcoming our new pastor, Rev. Frances Gonzalez to our mountain community and the Cloudcroft United Methodist Church.  Pastor Frances comes to us after serving her last four years as local pastor in two El Paso United Methodist churches.  With over 20 years experience in the ministry she had an extensive outreach as Director of Congregational Care at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in El Paso.  Frances says “I am a survivor of many battles, but God is able to use those experiences to minister to others”.

At age eleven she immigrated from Cuba to the United States and grew up in a refugee camp.  Eventually she learned to speak, read, and write English.   After high school she moved to New York and worked in the travel industry for 28 years.    This job allowed Frances to travel and live in different parts of the country;  helping her to understand and participate in different cultures.

Francis lost her husband six years ago and is immensely grateful for her six grown children, their spouses, four grandchildren with one on the way, and one great grandchild.  She says of her family “they are the beat of my heart”.

Living in Cloudcroft has been a dream for Frances for many years and now God has made her dream come true.  Frances is looking forward to serving our community and our congregation.  We look forward to Rev. Gonzalez leading our church family!
